Hi everyone,

There is something I don't know what to do about, and I was wondering whether you could help me out.

I've been studying Law for 4 years now: 3 years of Fench Law and one year of US Common Law.

In the US, there only is one kind of lawyer: the one who holds either a JD or a LLM.

In France, there are two kinds: avocat (known as lawyer) and notaire (whose functions are that of a lawyer and a solicitor).

I was wondering whether it would be interesting to be a notaire and hold a US qualification toward a LLM in the meantime. What do you think about it? I'm thinking about it because lots of Americans and Englishes buy pieces of real estate in France, and French lawyers cannot step in the field of real estate (because of the notaires' monopoly).

What solution would you think of?

Thanks.
