The Position
The title of the position would be Legal Associate and the position would report directly to the Head of Legal/IP. The Legal Associate would take primary responsibility for overall organization of the Legal/IP department on an administrative basis, as well as assisting the department Head on substantive legal matters, particularly with respect to technology licensing and questions concerning German law. More specific responsibilities include:
Day-to-Day responsibility for prioritizing and monitoring the status of department-wide projects
Maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy record keeping for technology licenses and IP-related filings
Liaising with Company Alliance Managers on contractual legal matters such as amending existing license agreements
Performing legal research for contract/licensing-related issues under German and European law
Preparing and reviewing confidential disclosure agreements and related agreements
Assisting the department Head with the preparation of licensing contracts and other agreements
Other projects as directed
In absence, stand in for department Head on licensing matters
The Candidate
The ideal candidate would have a legal degree (Rechtsanwalt) with some legal internship experience and up to two years of post-degree work experience in a high technology company.
Pre-requisite qualifications include:
Very strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
Fluency in German and English, with particularly strong skills in written English
Knowledge of, or strong desire to learn, fundamental principles of German contract law and unfair competition law
Capability of learning basic biotech scientific principles underlying Companyâs technology
Strong communication skills
Open personality with the possibility to adapt quickly to changes in rapidly growing company
Ability to work in teams and on tight deadlines
Desirable qualifications could include:
Knowledge of, or strong desire to learn, fundamental principles of intellectual property law
Prior exposure to principles of biotechnology
Experience in a High Tech, rapidly expanding Company

Google's legal team is growing again! Google is looking for an experienced attorney to focus on inbound technology acquisition and procurement transactions. The Counsel's primary responsibilities will include negotiating, drafting, and analyzing a wide variety of licensing, purchasing, services, and development agreements. Responsibilities:
