Hi all! I am an applicant to Columbia's LLM program (2023-24). I applied over 10 days ago but still haven't received a confirmation email from the university acknowledging receipt of my application, although my Law School Report has been requested by the university from LSAC. To those applicants who were admitted to the 2022-23 cohort or to any of you who have applied for the 2023-24 program - is this delay in receiving the acknowledgement email from Columbia normal? Would be really grateful for any responses or inputs

I didn’t apply to Columbia so I wouldn’t know, but why don’t you contact them and ask? I’m sure they are happy to help with any questions you have.

I tried reaching out to them on email, no response.

I tried reaching out to Columbia for this query over email, no response.

In that case I would try calling. I always had this issue with LSAC. Literally took them weeks to answer my questions via email while I would reach them within a couple of minutes on the phone.
Hope you’ll get an answer soon!

Hey! I also applied a few days ago and did not hear anything from CLS (similar situation to yours, I assume). So maybe it just takes some time for them to respond.
I'll let you know as soon as I've heard back from them - maybe you could do the same :)

Hey, thanks a lot for sharing! I absolutely will let you know if I hear anything. On this front, I have an update - recently at an Admissions Event CLS mentioned that it takes them anywhere between 2-4 weeks to process applications and issue acknowledgements to applicants. Further, if your LSAC account is showing that your application has been "transmitted" to CLS, then CLS has definitely received it. Lastly, this year (unlike previous years), they will also be providing a link to an online application status tracker in their acknowledgement emails. Decisions will simultaneously be released in March 2023.

Hey, thanks a lot for the swift reply.
I actually just received an E-Mail from the Admissions Office: They received my application, and it'll take up to three weeks for them to process it.

Thank you so much for letting me know! If you don't mind telling me - which country are you from? I am from India. Also, did they provide you with any link to an online application tracker or anything?

Also one more question - did you send the 'Executive LLM and LLM Dual Application' or just the 'Fall 2023 - Full time LLM Application'? The reason I ask is maybe they are sending out acknowledgements for the first category of applications sooner since the Executive LLM commences sooner. Would be super helpful for me to know!

One last thing - there's now a WhatsApp group for CLS applicants (2023-24). Here's a public link for anyone who wants to join:

Hey,
I applied for the "Fall 2023 - Full time LLM Application". On Friday, I received an E-Mail with a Link to the Online Application Tracker by Columbia. So everything worked out. All I can do now is wait...

Hey! Just hopping on this thread. I applied to Columbia LLM 15-Dec 2022 and received an email to say my application had been processed on 29-Dec 2022. Still awaiting a decision. I don't know if this helps, but they have been using my secondary email address for some reason. I did email them to let them know in case it is happening to everyone and people miss communication. Best of luck with your application!

I applied on the deadline, haven't gotten that yet. The last email that I get is Your Columbia Application: Next Steps.

Same here.
However, I have received another email where they told me that I would be eligible to apply also for the Executive LLM and asked me if I wished to be considered for both programs. They must have had a look at my application then, I guess. I declined, as I want to go for the full year program, but the applicants who applied for both the executive and the full year program apparently get decisions on both programs by February 1. Best of luck to all of you!

Sorry to intrude... Mexican JD student here trying to be where you are now in some time...
I can't find anywhere, precise information about how much work experience Columbia Law requires to apply to their LLM, can someone clarify it for me please?
Thank you so much and the best of lucks in your applications!
