I dont know if this is already been addressed at these forums but... i was wondering whether the London External LLB will be recognized by the bar in australia e.g the New south wales bar association? does the degree satisfy the requirements to take the australian bar exam?

To practise as a solicitor in Queensland, you need to complete the following four steps:
1) Completion of an approved law degree (LLB or JD)
2) Completion of an approved practical legal training (PLT) course to obtain the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice or completion of a supervised traineeship at a firm
3) Application for admission to Roll of Lawyers
4) Application for a practising certificate
The Board will direct a qualified overseas applicant (LL.B.) to undertake further academic study in Australia before applying for admission. In almost all cases, applicants will be required to study Federal and State Constitutional Law and Administrative Law as well as Property Law.

In other words your LLB will be partially accepted. Although an LLB is sufficient you will need to complete additional modules related to Australian Law such as Federal and State Constitutional Law.
