I dropped into the Law Faculty offices a week or so ago while I was in Toronto. One residence option they told me about was Massey College (http://www.utoronto.ca/massey/), a graduate residential college that is near the Faculty and hosts a number of speakers, etc., throughout the year. It looks like all of their rooms are singles, so it probably won't work if you have a family, but might be worth considering if not.

Hey Charles,
Thanks a lot for replying to my message. Actually, I have already started school 3 months ago and now i m staying in a private residence which is very convenient to me although it is a bit expensive, but i m happy with it anyway :)
So are you from NYC? or you just moved there lately for some reason?

Oops, should have paid more attention to the dates...
I am indeed in NYC now, though I am looking at foreign LLM programs right now. Did you end up in Toronto? If so, how do you like it?

Oh it is okay :) no worries ...
Well, my initial plan was to do my LL.M in UK actually, and I applied to about 7 universities and had no problem getting admitted into any of them. But unexpectedly I ended up in U of T :) and I never regretted that .. I really like it here but it definitely depends on your goals and on several factors .. I am happy to assist you in anything related to the LL.M program here.

How's the rent living in Toronto? Let's say for an average single room, perhaps sharing an apartment with a couple of roommates?

Hey there,
Actually if you are looking for a decent bachelor in a nice area for example, that wont be less than a 1000$ a month. But you can always share an apartment with a roommate of course.

Yeah, I was wondering about that second option, sharing an apartment with a roommate or two, but with having a room to yourself. What are the prices roughly for such housing?
