I reading law at Durham in the UK out of high school and although I do not really see myself pursing a career in practice and leaning more and more towards legal teaching I would like to know if it would still be possible to apply to a Canadian law program such as, UBC or Queens with this qualification. I know that the difference between JD and LLB is in name only and I would be able to sit NCA exams but I don't want to take that course when in the job market I'd be competing with others with two qualifications, if not more.
Has anyone pursued this route or know of someone who has?
On another note - I know that Queens requires a four year undergraduate while LLB is only a three-year degree but I know I can do a qualifying year at a Canadian institution - has anyone done a qualifying year and applied to law program successfully?
Sorry for the long and thanks for any feedback!
I forgot to add - I'm a Canadian citizen.
