LLM degree

Hi there, i am currently studying a bachelor's degree in Law and French at stirling university scotland. I plan to finish this 4 year degree and undertake a 1 year post-graduate degree in the LLM course. Would a Bachelor's degree in Law and and LLM degree in law suffice to practice Law in Australia or not? Or would i have to take a conversion course to make certain areas compatible or take further studies to broaden my knowledge in the field of law?
Your help would very much be appreciated.

Craig,

Simple answer is a LLB from Scotland and LLM from Australia would not be sufficient for law practise in Australia.

You will have to undertake conversion courses and this would differ from state to state - this issue has also been discussed in earlier threads so you would find it useful to have a browse through it.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Greg

Cheers thanks for your time and help.
So if i was to finish my Bachelor's degree in Law and French (BA) and do a post-graduate course at stirling uni in the 1 year LLM degree would i be able to attend an Australian uni as a post-graduate student to study the required subjects in order to become eligable to practice law in Australia?
Cheers, Craig!
