LLM at National University of Singapore

Hiya ppl,
I dnt know if u guys still remember me..well i was a regular on this forum till about 4 months back ..until the day i got here at NUS ..
Recently came across this bolggers added feature so thought it would be worthwhile to share my 3 months experience here at NUS for the benefit of all aspirants....
Im pursuing LLM in corporate and financial services , which i ve gathered is one of the more popular choices amongst most of the applicants to this univ..n hence the waiting lists.......
The course is well structured over a time period of about 10 months..varied subjects are offered..n students have the liberty of choosing subjects from within as well as outside their field of specialization..which one might like to pursue out of academic interest....
The faculty is hand picked and consists of many wellknown academedicians....
Im very impressed by the manner in which the classes are conducted in a very congenial setting....
The law faculty has now settled down in its new and beautiful campus and the initial hiccups that i and my other batch mates felt earlier are gone..
The international student community here is a delicious mix of students from europe , south -east asia , canada , US , Australia....etc
Another thing noteworthy of the institution is the assessment procedure--all graduate exams are open book..most of the modules stress on interaction based assessments which make the study all the more interesting...
The univ is beautiful..the student community here is very active so life can never be boring here...the calender month is always beseiged with happening events...its all about balancing work n play in the end...
If there's anything anybody wants to know about the admissons process or about the course in general feel free to mail me on esha@nus.edu.sg
cheers!

Hello Esha,
I am Tuan, from Vietnam. I am now a trainee lawyer of the Dongnai Bar Association in the South of Vietnam.
I intend to join LLMâs courses at NUS. For the detailed information, I carefully visited the NUSâs website (http://law.nus.edu.sg/prospective/postgrad/adm_req.htm) and I knew that one of the entry requirements is âa good Bachelorâs degree in lawâ, but I wondered how is âgoodâ.
I get a Bachelor's in law degree with the average mark at 6.8 (in 2001). Then I worked for a Provincial Peopleâs Court for 4 years. I also had 1 year experience as an associate in a law firm. And now I am practicing lawyerâs skills at a law office.
Terribly sorry for trouble you but I look forward to receiving your instructions very soon.
Btw, please give me more relevant information if you have.
Sincerely.

Hi Esha, I have also applied for the Corp. Financial Services program and am anxiously waiting for the result to be declared. I am in touch with parikshit as well, who has kinda given me a picture of what the course is like. If you could help me appreciate what exactly i should expect from the course and how I ought to be prepared (in case I get through), it would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Dipti
