The New York-based Albany Law School has announced the launch of two new Online LL.M. programs: in Financial Compliance and Risk Management.
According to the school, the new programs will cater to a growing demand for legal professionals in these fields.
"Skilled compliance professionals and risk managers play an essential role maintaining fair, orderly, and efficient financial markets," according to Christine Sgarlata Chung, Director of the Institute for Financial Market Regulation.
"Trained professionals in this area—in the growing, evolving financial services industry—are in high demand."
In the addition to the Online LL.M.s, the school will also offer the financial compliance and risk management programs as concentrations in Albany's Master of Science in Legal Studies (which is aimed at students without a background in law), as well as advanced professional certificates.
The Online LL.M. flavors of the programs can be completed in one year. a JD or LLB is required to apply.
The inaugural intake for the Online LL.M. programs in Financial Compliance and Risk Management will be in August. The deadline to apply is July 29. Other intakes will begin in October and January.
All students who enter as part of the first three cohorts will receive a special scholarship that will reduce tuition to under $25,000.
In 2017, Albany Law School launched an Online LL.M. in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Law.
