Georgetown Law has partnered with law firm Baker & McKenzie to launch a new scholarship aimed at tax LL.M. students.
The Leonard B. Terr Memorial Scholarship is named for Leonard Terr, a Baker & McKenzie partner who taught at Georgetown for 17 years until his death in 2015.
"The scholarship will provide tuition assistance for tax LL.M. students who have demonstrated financial need, who display a commitment to pursuing a career in tax law and who embody Georgetown’s ideals of service to others," according to a news release from the school.
The fund is valued at $1 million; no information was currently available in terms of the amount of individual scholarships. The first scholarship will be awarded to an LL.M student in the fall of 2016.
