The Covid pandemic has highlighted and exacerbated inequalities in work. While some worked remotely, avoiding infection while juggling family care, others had no choice but to work in person or to lose their job. Yet the Supreme Court declared it to be beyond OSHA’s power to mandate employer efforts to slow the spread of disease. In the 17th annual lecture in honor of the civil and labor rights lawyer-activist Jack Pemberton, Professor Fisk explores the hopes for workplace justice in challenging times.
