Hi People!
I was accepted to both Cardozo and Fordham LLMs on International Law and I really don't know which one to choose. Fordham is ranked better than Cardozo, but it is only the second year that Fordham offers the program International Law and Justice. I also heard Cardozo is well known for human rights (which I would like to focus on), as they are jewish. Cardozo also offers externships and clinics and Fordham doesn't.
Please, Help!!
Thanks a lot!

I was accepted in International law at AU, Fordham and Cardozo. I accepted AU's offer. According to me, for international law:
1) American U
2) Fordham
3) Cardozo

2) Fordham
3) Cardozo

Thank you Teddybear!
Does AU offer clinics and externships for LLMs? Do you think externships make it easier to get a job after the LLM? or it is easier to get a job with a better ranked school (with no externships nor clinics)? Anyone has an opinion on that?
Thanks

What are your career plans?
Posted Apr 29, 2009 04:45
I would like to work in an international organization, like United Nations, or public service. I'll focus on international law, human rights. Don't want to work as a lawyer nor in a firm, though I think I'll sit for the bar exam because an assistant dean told me that it would be good for my resume and I would be more qualified for any job.

Just guessing, and I am totally ignorant, but I would go for Fordham.

Tough decision to make, hate dilemmas myself. Both great schools, I would chose the one that has something to offer after graduation. I imagine that Cardozo is the one with greater network. Any scholarship from any of them?
Good luck with decision taking and congratulations!

Thanks rogh and everyone that replied!! No scholarships from none of them. Just found out talking to a current LLM from Fordham that they can also offer externship and clinic for LLMs. Don't know why they said they didn't !??
Rogh, have you applied to any school? do you live in the US?
Thanks!!

Roberta, I have applied to Cardozo only (no result yet), but now I'm mortified because I didn't know about this program at Fordham (I would have applied for sure, feel so stupid now...). I am from Eastern Europe. I had an opportunity to talk to few Fordham alumni, U.S. attorneys from NYC and they are totally in favour of Fordham as opposed to Cardozo. I know I'm confusing you even more, I'm in the same situation myself... If I get more susbstantial info, I'll let you know. Good luck!

Roberta:
AU does offer externships and they have a career councelor specifically for AU LLM's as well as a career fair for their students only. hope this helps!

I forgot to mention AU offers full scholarships, but I think the deadline to apply already passed.
