Dear All,
Guess this dilemma was discussed before many times on this forum. However, I still hesitating. I've got offers from both universities. The subject I want to study is primarily International Finance law.
I've looked through both universities websites, and I found that program in King's (International Finance http://www.kcl.ac.uk/schools/law/apply/pgrad/llm/prog/specllm/fin/fin.html) is a little bit more interesting than the one provided by UCL (International Banking and Finance http://www.ucl.ac.uk/laws/prospective/llm/index.shtml?llm_spec_15).
Moreover, due to my intention to work in the area of finance as a practicing lawyer, I looked at the professors profiles at both schools, and it seems to me that UCL is more academic rather that KCL. Some of the professors of KCL used to be partners at international law firms or investment bakers.
However, one of the points of my concern is international reputation of both schools. In various ratings the ranks of both universities is also pretty controversial e.g. Guardian puts KCL higher, and Times do this for UCL.
Therefore, I would be very grateful for those who can provide some advice on my dilemma.
Thank you very much in advance,
UCL v. KCL dillema is still alive :)

Hi again! go to KCL becuse you aparently want to go there. Rely on your feelings or otherwise you will always doubt on whether you chose right!

I agree with The Godfather.
Both universities are very good and well known in law. It does not really matter if you chose either KCL or UCL. UCL ranks better over time but there is not a big gap between these two universities. If you want to work in international financial law, It will depend more on your work experience, how many languages you speak and your personality at the interviews.
Why are you still hesitating? In other threads, you wrote a lot about how you felt that KCL was more appealing. I mean if you think that KCL program is more interesting and KCL professors are less academic, move ahead and chose KCL ;-)

Dear Johnson and Godfather,
Thank you for your quick replies. Yes you both are right, I probably tend to choose KCL rather UCL. But as many lawyers, I need to challenge everything in order to understand the correct way :).

do that Turchik and do not hesitate. Both of the schools are top law schools. You have beautiful photo! You seem to be very young on it - how old were you when you took it?

Thanks for compliments Godfather :))
In fact I am very young in this picture. I was very hungry and that's why I look so unhappy on it. ))))

Hey,
I'm having the same dilemna:( In the beginning I wanted to go to UCL, but they have raised their prices and are now more than £1,200 more expensive than King's. I keep on asking myself if it's worth the extra cash. UCL seems to be better ranked in the UK, but King's is appearantly more well known in continental Europe.
I really don't know what to do............
By the way, I want to study banking/financial law
