LLM in IT and Technology Law

I am thinking of doing LLM in IT and Technology Law... Submitted my application in King's College London, Queen Mary, Edinburgh and Strathclyde.... KCL and Queen Mary have yet to reply me but I got an offer from Edinburgh... As KCL and Queen Mary are pretty competitive, I have given up and now choosing between Edinburgh and Strathclyde? Which uni is better? Any other uni good for this specialism?

Thanks!

Edinburgh would be my choice -- for tech law it may be an even better option than the London unis. Essex also has an IT specialisation, but Edinburgh is the better programme and you're already in there.

Thanks for your reply! :) I guess I will opt for Edinburgh then! :) But the fees is still a problem! It is 13K for international student, just 1K cheaper than KCL... LOL

Any claim that one university is better than another - as long as they participate in the Research Assessment Exercise http://www.rae.ac.uk/ by which we judge ourselves and the UK government distributes funds - is largely subjective. If you are looking for telecoms, data protection and IT, then Strathclyde and Essex are very similar to QML, if you prefer IPR/copyright/patent and biotech then Edinburgh and Kings will be more suitable. You also need to think whether you want to spend your winter in London/Colchester or Edinburgh/Glasgow, in terms of costs, weather, culture etc. [Obviously London is much more expensive to live].

You should also look at who actually teaches on the LLM - so you have amazing techies at Edinburgh (artificial intelligence courses etc.) with totally unique courses, whereas Essex has a more human rights bent as well as regulatory law - i.e. you'll have guest speakers from Ofcom and classmates from communications regulators.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I have received an offer from KCL.. Although i know that Edinburgh may be a good option as well, KCL is more internationally known and may looks better in my CV. I am however a little bit concerned as well how good is their LLM in Regulation and Technology Law? Anyone has done it before? Do they offer this specialism every year?
