It is truly remarkable: When one peruses all of these posts, the over-riding concern is about........the reputation of schools -- not the actual quality of any given program. There seems to be an almost pathological obsession with where one obtains a degree, as tho' potential students were purchasing a sports car or a stylish suit of clothing. How sad. The public image of a school/program, on one hand, and the actual, tangible quality-of-education a student receives can often be two VERY different things. The "disconnect" between 'Fact' and 'Image' is certainly a reality in US postgraduate programs. True, one can make the case that WHERE you graduate from will determine whether or not you are hired and promoted, but that only "begs the question," i.e. are you being true to the study of law....or catering to your own personal vanity.....?
