Alicante (Spanish level)

Inactive User

Hey Guys,

does anyone know if it is possible to visit the University of Alicante (LLM in IP law) with a good English level and basic Spanish knowledge? I would not visit courses taught in Spanish because I could not understand the "academic" level, I think. But maybe it´s possible to select only English courses.

If anyone knows, I´d be thankful for some information :)

Hi Liene

I am currently studying LLM in IP law in Alicante. Master programme is divided into 4 modules:
-patents (70% in English and 30% in Spanish)
-trade marks, designs, unfair competition (70% in Spanish and 30% in English)
-copyright (90% or even more in Spanish, because most of the classes are about derecho de autor/propiedad intelectual which means spanish copyright law)
-IT (only in English).

You definitely do not have to worry about courses in Spanish if you have already basic knowledge. My friend, who is studying with me had nothing in common with Spanish before coming here, but when she arrived she took some Spanish classes and now she has the best grades in the master :) Furthermore, there is possibility to choose whether to have exams in Spanish or English (I chose exams only in English so far).

As a student of Magister Lvcentinvs I had a great opportunity to attended to two EIPIN conferences. In these conferences I could see that what distinguishes Alicante from other LLM's in IP law in that network is that most of the classes are thought by legal professionals not only from Spain, but also i.e. Germany or UK. Due to that fact I am gaining the knowledge from the people with fantastic academic and professional experience.

However, LLM in Alicante has, as everything in life, its advantages and disadvantages. If you would have more qustions concerning LLM in IP in Alicante, feel free to contact me.
