JD in Aussie

Hi all
I had some questions about new Australian JDs like UNSW and Sydney are introducing it.

How do you think do employers appreciate JD graduates. Is the JD+PLT same as LLB+PLT in terms of employability?

I know that getting scholarship for LLM is hard but possible. How is it about JD, is it as possible as LLM scholarship?

thank you

Hi there,

In my opinion the employability for JD +PLT and LLB+PLT would be the same. However, there is an excess supply of law graduates/lawyers in Australia so employment options might be limited by market forces.

As for scholarships, I think the general rule is that it is difficult to get a scholarship. These schools might have scholarships as their program is new but I very much doubt so!
