Rod Sullivan
Rod Sullivan is an Associate Professor of Law and the Director of the Logistics and Transportation LL.M. Program at Florida Coastal School of Law. He primarily teaches Constitutional Law and courses in transportation law.
He received two Bachelor of Science degrees from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, his law degree from Stetson University and his Masters in International Law from Georgetown University.
Before becoming a law professor he practiced maritime law for over 25 years. During that time he tried over 100 cases, including numerous maritime/commercial cases and eleven criminal cases. He began teaching at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2007. In 2009 he successfully argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Atlantic Sounding v Townsend.
Professor Sullivan writes extensively and appears frequently on television and radio, including appearances on CNN, CSPAN, National Public Radio, and the Korean Broadcasting Company. He has been quoted in Time Magazine, and his letters have appeared in the New York Times, the International New York Times (Korea Joongang Daily), USA Today, the Washington Times, and Roll Call magazine.
