The University of Miami School of Law has announced it is launching a new LL.M. program in the Taxation of Cross-Border Investment.
The 28-unit program can be taken on a full- or part-time basis.
According to the law school, the new program "will benefit students who have a solid foundation in their own domestic tax system and who are a few years out of law school, lawyers who are practicing, or intend to practice, in or with Latin America in order to develop the niche market of structuring investments in and by Latin America, and non-U.S. lawyers ready to delve into a more sophisticated tax practice and looking to understand enough U.S. tax law to work well with U.S. tax lawyers."
The new program will be introduced at an Open House event on the evening (6-8pm) of May 15 at the Miami office of Greenberg Traurig.
