The University
ISDE is an academic institution born out of the heart of the legal profession. Representatives of the main national and international firms were involved in its foundation, with the objective of creating an academic institution dedicated to offer training of the highest level.
ISDE selects talented students from leading national and international universities, offers excellence-based training an therefore, introduces them in professional structures with sufficient guarantees.
ISDE is a center affiliated with the Complutense University of Madrid. Its students are trained in some of the most prestigious international universities, such as Georgetown University, NYU, Miami University and Jindal Global University, leaders in international rankings.
This double contribution of the best academic and professional partners configures a global training model that breaks the artificial gap between theory and practice and translates into a comprehensive professionalization method.
The Law School
In February 1992, members of the top Law firms in Barcelona and Madrid met to discuss the creation of an Institution exclusively dedicated to the highest quality of legal preparation. A center established from the core of advocacy in Spain was necessary to enable students who had been trained following its particular method to join leading firms, which at the same time would meet the demands of the most qualified offices in our country.
Two of the main assets of ISDE are its methodology (a perfect combination of theoretical and practical knowledge) and the extraordinary group of academics and collaborating entities.
ISDE has been the first Spanish educational center to obtain the recognition of the Consejo general de la Abogacia Española (CGAE) and of the Consejo de los Ilustres Colegios de Abogados de Cataluña (CICAC). It is also, the first and only Spanish institution whose Master programs have been recognized, in both, Barcelona and Madrid Bar Associations.
ISDE maintains a close relationship with business and academic sectors. Currently, it collaborates with more than 250 associated law firms and companies from multiple countries. Additionally, ISDE has partnerships with prestigious universities such as New York University, Georgetown, University of Miami and Jindal Global University, among others.
The objective of this collaboration is twofold: to guarantee that students receive permanently updated training and opportunities to develop their professional careers, and also to encourage collaborating law firms and companies to be more competitive and socially responsible thanks to the labor insertion of young talents trained in an environment of international excellence.
Thanks to the achievements reached over the past few years, ISDE nowadays has more than 15.000 former students from more than 40 countries all over the world.
The Faculty
ISDE´s faculty is composed of professionals with extensive experience in research and teaching. Most of them are doctors and practicing lawyers in leading law firms and companies, which proves their merit in research coupled with a practical viewpoint of the profession.
Alumni
ISDE alumni are part of a community of 30,000 professionals from the five continents, many of you in senior management positions in law firms, in multinationals or undertaking personal projects. Location
ISDE replicates work environments of leading law firms and companies. Therefore, as an essential support to their training, our students have access to the same tools that new internet based technologies provide.
Our students will be able to access the different campuses according to the type of program they are studying. Equipped with the latest technology and located in the most prominent neighborhoods of each city, in any of its four venues, they will find opportunities to practice sports, attend courses, conferences and master sessions that complements their academic programs. The activities promoted by ISDE are aimed at the acquisition of a greater knowledge and the strengthening of the relationships between students.

Madrid is a bustling city in constant growth. Considered by many as the natural crossroad for business between Europe, America and Africa. ISDE’s campus is located in the financial district, close to the headquarters of leading law firms and companies, whose professionals compose its faculty and where ISDE students carry out multiple in-house workshops.
ISDE’s campus in Barcelona has all the conditions to provide the best environment for excellence based training and advancement. Located in one of the most charming areas of the city and in a building that combines the tradition of its history with all the comforts for students.
Accommodation
We have collaboration agreements with specialized partners that offer accommodation services. If a student requests it, we can advise on several options: shared and single apartments, residence in Spanish families for those foreign students who want to have a better understanding of the local culture etc.
If you need assistance with any of these alternatives, we will be glad to provide it.
Student Life
At ISDE, you have the leading role. We inaugurate the course with an opening ceremony and during the term, we organize breakfasts, social activities and celebrate Christmas. Finally, the course concludes with the graduation ceremony attended by prominent professionals from the legal sector, elected officials, teachers, tutors and last but not least the students’ families.
