This programme, built on the expertise of KU Leuven Centre for IT & IP Law, provides an in-depth study of European IP, ICT and Media Law. The IP, ICT and media sectors are rapidly-evolving and highly complex sectors influenced by a myriad of technological, economic and sociological developments. Existing legal frameworks are continuously challenged within these sectors and traditional legal concepts and principles are regularly being reinterpreted.
This programme intends to address the increasing demand for qualified legal experts in the IP, ICT and media sector. To achieve this objective, students are offered a comprehensive study of European IP law, IT law and media and communications law, with special attention for interdisciplinary perspectives and practical skills that are in demand in this sector. The teaching staff consists of internationally respected academics, experts from institutions such as the European Commission and national regulatory authorities, and leading practitioners, ensuring an optimal knowledge and experience transfer. The programme provides an excellent academic education and added value both to graduate students wishing to cap their curriculum and to practitioners in search of top-quality, cutting-edge expertise.

The Master of Intellectual Property and ICT Law is organised by the KU Leuven Centre for IT & IP Law. The classes are taught at the Brussels campus.

- International students need to have obtained a degree that is considered to be equivalent to a Master's degree in Law. However, students that have obtained a Master degree in other disciplines may also be admitted subject to a positive evaluation of their full application file.
- If the master's degree is awarded outside of the European Union: admission may be allowed on the condition that a special training course 'Introduction to European law' is attended.
- If the master's degree is awarded within the European Union: admission may be allowed on the condition that a special training course 'Introduction to law' is attended unless students obtained a master's degree in law or a master's degree in a discipline that includes an introduction in law of at least 60 hours.

Students are expected to have a proven academic track record, a strong interest in the areas of IP, ICT and/or Media Law and a proficient level of written and spoken English (by means of an acknowledged language test such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Starting academic year 2021-2022 the tuition fee for a 1-year program will be 3.900€ for EEA students and 6.600€ for non EEA students.

For Flemish participants it is possible to use the "K.M.O-portefeuille" to obtain a subsidy for the tuition fee.

At the moment, the programme is not able to award scholarships. Depending on your nationality it may be possible to find scholarships in your country of origin or at http://www.scholarshipportal.eu.

All courses will be offered at the Brussels Campus, Stormstraat 2, 1000 Brussel. Campus Brussel is a short walk from the train station Brussel-Centraal.

As a foreign student you will discover a city full of surprising contrasts. Brussels is a place rich in art and architecture, treating you to its local specialities, and its friendly atmosphere. You will see that the city has a lot to offer to students; libraries and bookshops, sport facilities, shops, tasteful food and drinks, like the famous French fries, the delicious chocolates and the world's strongest beers.

Brussels is located in the centre of Belgium. In fact, the name Brussels refers to the Brussels Capital Region, which consists of 19 municipalities each with their own town hall, mayor and council, their own police force and social services. The official name for the main municipality of the Brussels Capital Region is the City of Brussels (Bruxelles-Ville or Ville de Bruxelles in French, de Stad Brussel in Dutch).

Brussels, the Capital of Europe, hosts the headquarters of several important European and international institutions like the European Commission, the European Parliament and NATO. Many international firms have their hubs in Belgium's capital as well.

Moreover, Brussels is the world's seventh biggest financial market - 60 foreign banks have their offices in the city - and it is welcoming nearly 16 000 business congresses every year. Furthermore, the large number of diplomatic missions in Brussels has contributed to its international character.

And if you would like to explore the rest of Europe during your stay in Brussels, you will be delighted to find cities like London, Paris, Cologne or Amsterdam all within a radius of 300 km. These cities are easily accessible by high-speed trains and cheap plane tickets (see Public Transport).
