Well Penn hasn't sent out anything on fin aid thus far (for all we know). Perhaps you may be granted some amount there which shall ease up the decision on your part.

However, what I would be very willing to know is when Penn has in mind to communicate financial aid decisions. I suppose on the one hand a delay might be good because they tend to adopt quite an aggressive deadline policy and with other Schools not having even made offers yet that could be a tricky one.

In a very old thread...perhaps dated 2005, so no cause for alarm, someone stated they gave something like 24 hours (but then the person asked for an extension).

I'm not telling them how to do their job, but wouldn't the trick be giving the admission decisions early (before their "main competitors") and then giving a (reasonably) short deadline to accept w/ scholarship? Something that NYU used to do the previous years as I was made aware of on one of the fora.

NYU is creating major stress all over the board...Guess if I have some sort of aid I'll be heading to Philly, although I will have to 'sell' it to my wife, but what the heck, I'm an attorney...

Indeed that would make a lot of sense from a marketing perspective. I do believe Penn's grants and according deadline will surely be given out before Harvard's decision (although I secretly hope for the opposite to happen). Berkeley, which is a main Penn "competitor" seems to be particularly slow this year without even having communicated its firs wave of acceptances. My call is we are living a pecular admissions year :)

Andy, well, the whole selling process might even be good practice for the Penn LLM then!

Thanks Freckles, she's a M.D. and she's currently studying for the USMLE exams to apply for Dermatology School in the US. It helps that Penn has a nice dermatology school...

I'm waiting for Berkeley as well!
It's interesting that these schools are direct competitors, although tied in the rankings, they have very different, shall I say, backgrounds.

It is the first time I applied for an LLM, but yes, it seems that nothing has its rhyme or reason any longer. :) However, let's just hope that, in the end, this turns to our advantage!

Andyllop, you can sell it by making her watch either the teenage mystery tv show called Pretty Little Liars (apparently, it's a version of Desperate Housewives, and it should be set somewhere really close to Philly) or It's Always Sunny, which is amazing, while...not straightforwardly positive about the city.

I got in, nothing about the financial aspects though.

Congrats on your admission! I had contacted them last month to ask when they normally send out financial aid decisions. They said early March (clearly not the case) and in any event prior to the April 1st deadline. I hope this still stands!

We won't be able to access the Wharton stuff for 24 more hours!

e-mail sent to all admitted LLM
applicants, a link to the online WBLC
application. These applications are
due March 15. (Exceptions may apply.)"

I was, however, wowed by how much it costs! $8,265, that's some serious cherry on top of the already high tuition fees!

March 15? That's really not enough time for a serious application.

For me, Wharton is a big part of the reason I applied to Penn.
