Official NYU decision board :D

You're right, @lisa11. But NYU adopts such policy because they want to grant scholarships only to those students for which NYU really is the first option for pursuing the LLM. They make it very clear in the application instructions. I'm not saying that this is right or wrong, but, in my opinion, it's just fair enough - it's their money after all.

I'm pretty nervous/excited as well.
Given the information stated above, is it therefore correct to conclude that, if we don't get an acceptance this week, it means we might still get in, but no scholarship?
But as scholarships are not the only financial aid, can we still hope for a (partial) waiver?

Same here, same here...It's morning coffee along with obsessive checking of various message boards.
I do hope that at least one more university responds as quick as NYU/before any acceptance deadline, just to know where I stand.

As I have understood from various message boards it is customary that taxation decisions go out earlier (don't know why). Is it a "domestic" LLM?
I applied to the Corporate program.

It seems like schools vary widely on when they send out their acceptance letters, even w/in the tax realm. For example, I heard from Georgetown around Dec. 21. I know all of my classmates that applied to NYU's tax program have heard back, but no one has heard from Florida. And yes it's the "domestic" program--I'm not up for moving the family to Singapore :) .

You are right, perhaps the most stressful part of the application procedure is the randomness of the school's deadlines.
Well, Singapore might be far, but I've heard it has the best night club scene in the far east! ;)

Just the opposite for me. I've heard from Florida and Miami, but not NYU or GULC.

I hope we start to hear tomorrow because the waiting is irritating! However, being bored and obsessive, I managed to locate the NYU LLM application instructions from last year and there it said that decisions would be received "early to mid March" whilst this year the 'early' was removed! This means that we shouldn't be too surprised if we have to wait another couple of weeks :-(

lets hope not!

Good luck to all

From NYU's website:

"Decisions regarding the full-time LL.M. program in New York City will be communicated in early to mid-March to applicants with foreign education credentials who supply all materials necessary to complete their files by the December 1 deadline, without preference as to date of application. Those foreign applicants who do not supply materials to complete their application by the December 1 deadline will receive decisions as they are made following completion of their file. All decisions for foreign applicants to the LL.M. program in New York City will be communicated by late June."

I was actually needy enough to go check that myself as well. Let's hope not.

I have another question now: since they requested them I send further materials my application was not complete by Dec 1. Does that mean I will get my decision later?
(However, it has been saying under review since the end of January)

I don't mean to cause alarm, because since my application later went "into review", I would suppose there was plenty of time for them to decide whether to admit me or not.

I wouldn't worry about it because looking at last years tracker, lots of people who recieved results at the start of March got their applications complete emails after December 1st.

Anyway speculation is useless at this stage. We'll just have to see what happens.

Good luck!

guys... you're lawyers...

the text says: people who supply the materials before the december 1st deadline.... not the people who receive the completion e-mail before that...
