Hi everyone,
I have been admitted to the LLM-K at Northwestern and I am currently waiting for decisions from NYU, Columbia and Harvard. I have heard and read in several forums that the LLM-K program is unique and that even if admitted by one of the others schools, it would be hard to make a decision notwithstanding those schools are better positioned in the overall rankings. Another subject to consider is that the LLM-K costs around 30k more than any other program. I will very much appreciate your thoughts regarding this matters.
Best luck to all of you with your applications.

The LLMK seems to be a more specific program. If you are a corporate lawyer and your focus in enhancing your knowledge in such field and in business, it seems like a great option.
On the other hand, I would not choose the LLMK over harvard. Maybe nor over Columbia. However, It seems as a better option than NYU.
Good luck.

Thank you very much RC LAW.
I am indeed a corporate lawyer and I do wish to enhance my knowledge in business. Also, Im very much interested in relating corporate and business law with alternative dispute resolution methods.
I understand the Harvard case but why would you choose Columbia?

Hi, what about UPENN-Wharton? I am a corporate lawyer, and I am wondering which one is better: Georgetown, Columbia, NYU, UPENN-Wharton?

LLM Kellogg is just a great program.
You learn so much in corporate law and business. When applying for this program, I did not know it was so good and rewarding.
Best

I have similar questions!
Right now, I have offers for LLM-K, UPenn + Wharton and Columbia (between Columbia and NYU I would choose Columbia), but I am not sure how to compare LLM-K and UPenn with Columbia or LLM-K with UPenn.
SPV, could you elaborate on your experience with LLM-K?
Any help will be appreciated!

Hello LLM2013/2014,
Have you made a decision? I have just withdrawn my name from UPenn. I feel that the LLMK is a better program.
Certainly any other opinions will be much appreciated

Not yet, MexLLM2013.
I am awaiting to see if some school will offer me a scholarship or anything.
In fact, now I am even more confused since I received an offer from Oxford to pursue its MLF program. Any opinion on this course?

I just cannot make a decision between CLS and LLM/K. My focus is corporate law and capital markets and the business approach of the LLM/K sounds really interesting. On the other hand, CLS is one of the best schools in the world, very renowned specially in the areas I am interested in, and, considering that I am doing an LLM and not a MBA and that my focus is in law, I dont think it would be a smart choice to miss the chance of going there.

Happy problems! I think Im going to accept the offer for the LLM/K unless I get admitted to Harvard.

What a great problem to have!!
Someone just made the perfect analysis in my opinion. CLS is for sure a better law school, however, the LLMK has a bigger focus on business - which is very intersting.

I know most of you guys would have made their decision. Considering all of you would have done extensive research on which school to attend, I would appreciate if someone can throw some light on best school to attend for corporate laws from a job perspective and not the ranking.
NWU/NYU/Upenn
Thanks.
