Hi guys,
first of all I wish to introduce myself. I'm a 31 years old italian lawyer specialized in public procurement law at a top italian legal firm. I've now decided to apply (next year) for an LLM program in the US. So could you give me some more informations about universities which offer an LLM program in the public procurement field plz (or similar ... regulatory, competition, tenders, public contracts, public bodies' nature and activity ... etc ... and above all in a comparative - eu law - perspective) in the US.
Thank you...
Francesco
p.s. I know GWU has a government procurement LLM but I've undestood it is focused on US law and government mainly ... Do you have any other informations ? and what about GWU generally speaking?
bye

Well, GWU is not really a top-tier school, and you should take it into consideration. I doubt if any Italians really know GWU, and in the US it is not very highly regarded. Comparative law, EU law, and competition law are all well represented in the best law schools. NYU, Harvard, Columbia, and Chicago, at least, spring to mind. I am also convinced that they will have courses on those subjects. You should check their course offerings from the web. I strongly suggest you to apply to the top-tier law schools, which have interesting EU/Competition/Procurement/Comparative law scholars instead of trying to find a public procurement program from some unknown third-tier law school. What do you think?

ok thank you, I understand the message.
I was only courious of knowing if an LLM in public procurement exist in the US. In this respect when I pointed out to the other law fields (regulatory, eu and competition) I was thinking to all those with respect and limited to the public procurement field cases.
Anyway, as I above said, I'll apply to one of the top tier law schools avoiding huge and useless expenses!

I saw this request regarding an LLM in public procurement and was puzzled.
One of the most distinguished academic practitioners in public procurement is Sue Arrowsmith at Nottingham University in the UK. I would start my search for information there.
I am not sure in fact how many public procurement courses that Nottingham actually runs but in any event I would call Arrowsmith and ask for her advice on where to go-if Nottingham cannot help you she should be able to point you in the right direction both in Europe and the US.
