Please be advised, if you have a 3 year LLB from an English (common law) jurisdiciton ie. Canada, UK, Australia, NewZealand, you will qualify to sit the NY Bar WITHOUT the need for a US LLM.

It is true, you can check on the NY Bar website.
However, it has to be a 3 year (typical) undergrad in law from the UK and not (as is in my case) a 3 year undergrad in another subject + the GDL, hence why I am pursuing a LLM to make up for the extra credits. Joint British degrees also do not qualify, has to be 3 year straight law LLB

Did you get an evaluation from NYSBOLE on your GDL + US LLM under the cure provision? Just curious.

If anyone can advise me about my situation. I am attorney form Republic of Macedonia and hold LLM degree gained here in my country. I am also admitted to my home bar and already practice law more the a year now.

I would like to move in US and to practice law, however I need some advises what is the best option in this case. To sit for bar in NY you need LLM. On the other site as I read on the posts the California bar accept any foreign lawyer.

I have degree from civil law system and I am not sure if I need LLM or not. How you solve the visa requirements and what is the best option in this case.

I am an engineer and a current 2L student in India. I would like to know the job prospects in NY or California if I clear the respective bar exams.

Also, how would these job offers change if I decide to pursue an LLM without any work experience?
