I got a scholarship of 30k yesterday, still can’t afford the remainder so I am thinking of asking for more.
Congratulations, to my knowledge this 50% scholarship is the maximum amount awarded by the scholarship committee. There is also a very limited number of 100% scholarship: 1 scholarship awarded per dean, so 3 in total. However, I guess that they were already awarded.
The email said I had to accept or reject by April 1st so it doesn’t appear that Duke will move the deadline.
You can still ask by email for an extension of the deadline, they are generally inclined to accept.
I also got an email earlier today saying that they are monitoring the coronavirus situation but that the plan is for the LLM year to start on course. They did mention that their current LLMs had to be transitioned to remote learning platforms.
I am still in touch with some current LLM and JD students at Duke. It seems that due to the Covid-19 they have online classes (and it seems that exceptionally it will be "ok" with the ABA rules because all US law schools are in the same situation).
