CORNELL

I have e-mailed Cornell's admissions office asking them about the requirement that transcripts go through LSAC and they have yet to reply... Has anyone had any experience with the llm admissions office? The thing is I don't want to send my transcripts through LSAC and I got the impression that this is the only way to apply. And the deadline is February 1st so there is not much time. Should I apply anyway and just send them along with the rest of the application materials? Or, given that the sooner the better and, therefore, the odds are against me, I might as well not bother applying???

It is weird. They state on the online page that we should hear from them within 8-12 weeks after the application is complete. It's gonna be 12 weeks for me today and still no sign at all.

Tota,

I applied without using LSAC and just sent my transcripts along with all my other materials and this was fine and my file is complete.

Good Luck!

Slowbutsure:

Hi, is it not 8-12 weeks from the 1st of February or is it 8-12 weeks from when your application goes 'complete'? I thought it was the former, and so was expecting to wait untill March/April for a notice of rejection/admission.

Any thoughts?

the website has this post:

Due to record numbers of applications this year we are experiencing delays in processing applications. Once we have processed your application materials we will contact you via email to either confirm that your application is complete or to provide you with details if you are missing application materials. We will then update your online status check account, if you have created one. Please be aware that applications will be considered on time based on when application materials are received rather than when we update the application status to "complete".

and regarding the 8 - 12 week point, my status says:

As of 12/10/2009 your application status is:

Complete

Your application is ready for review by the Admissions Committee. If, your application was complete by February 1, you should receive a written decision by the next 8 to 12 weeks.

so i believe 8 / 12 weeks should be reckoned from the status date 12/10 and not from 1st feb - which means 1st week of feb onwards. almost all the univs are releasing admission details on a rolling bassi, so on some counts, it looks like results will be declared on - those processed first, results declared first.

best of luck to all~

Guys...I just checked my online status and it says;

'Decision The Admissions Committee has reached decision on your application file and you will receive a written decision soon. Please be patient with the postal system. Please wait for 10 to 14 days to receive your written decision before contacting the Admissions Office. '

I think I will receive the decision in a week. Anyway, I'm not very excited since I got the offer from Penn. Just thought you guys wanna check it out :) Good luck!!

Anyway, do you think Cornell will give out financial aids?

They have changed the completion date on my status. It was complete as of December, now its been changed (over the last few days) to the beginning of January for some reason.
So perhaps I have to wait for 8-12 weeks from the new date...

Hey guys,

I don't know if I'm accepted/rejected, but from what I've read, it is possible to call/email them to know what the decision is.

I sent them an email on Saturday, and I'm still waiting for the answer. However, the decision was taken on Wednesday, so I should receive the letter quite soon anyway.

I applied in early November and my file was complete in mid-December. I realized a decision was reached on my case a week ago. Then, i just called them and they gave me that decision over the phone.

Now, I'm waiting for the admission letter, but I don't think I'll accept it.

Im still waiting for my letter.

Can anyone who recieved their letter, and was admitted, tell whether their letter was a big one, or a small/thin one?

Cheers
