Hi folks, My university doesn't provide Class rankings and I am unable to get a written document from them stating this. What to do now regarding the Columbia application since they require a class rank?

In my case, I received an official note by the school indicating that there was no ranking available for my class yet (I applied relatively early).

I think I will not finish my application since it's the holiday season and I will not be able to get this document until January 2nd.

I submitted my application on December 15th. In the online status tracker all boxes for all requirements are checked except for the category 'detail'. However I have no clue which documents are meant by 'detail'. Anybody got any information on this? the admissions office wasn't very helpful unfortunately (just replied with automatic response)

Not sure. But, this has been the holiday time of the year, meaning that schools can be slow to respond, and even update tracking for admissions issues.

Maybe you can follow-up with them sometime next week, after the holiday period has died down a bit. Maybe even with a phone call, which is harder to ignore.

Could it mean the ranking statement from your law school? Did you submit such document through LSAC? I couldn't think of something else in the requirement...

I have the same "detail" missing from my application status. Would love to know if they have responded to your query and how.

hi, i called them today and was told that most documents have not been processed yet, - if anything is actually missing, they will let us know via email, - so nothing to worry about yet!

Have you received any news regarding the financial aid decisions from Columbia? In the email Columbia sent me, they mentioned tha I was supposed to be notified in the first days of january...

I have had no news on this regard either, I'm also waiting impatiently ....

Lucuiana the actual wording in the email sent by Columbia was: "We hope to make financial aid decisions early next year and will notify you as soon as we have made a decision on your application". That does not mean the first few days of Jan. It could very well mean the first few months of 2014. In any event I too have not heard anything yet about financial aid nor about the applications to the human rights/apple fellowships.

With that been said the admission package arrived in the mail yesterday and it was quite the nifty collection of documents and information - very interesting to sift through and quite the motivation booster.

Also, may I ask you if you received your admission package through FedEx or regular mail? Did it contain any deadline to pay the required fee? And roughly where are you from?

The reason Im asking is my local post office is a real piece of work and they often lose international packages or they can take up to 3 months to arrive.
