Ive got an undergrad in accounting (but no CPA), and have been practicing for nine years in the areas of criminal law, family law, etc (nothing tax related). Im sick of these areas and would really like to get into a tax position. Ive been accepted to Denvers LLM program (only applied there, because I want to stay in Denver and dont intend on moving afterwards), and Id really like to go full time to completely jump in and show Im committed to this career change (and partly to get out of the burnout of arguing over pots and pans). If I was in a tax related job, though, Id probably go to school part time, but without any experience, I dont think thats going to be easy to come by. Is the best option for me to quit my current job, go full time, and go all out in the job search? I went to a 3rd tier law school, graduated middle of the pack (although on law review). Any advice?
