I havent started looking yet, but I have lived there before (one summer for an internship in college), and additionally I have a couple of friends who live there currently (one works there (non-attorney), and the other is about to graduate from Georgetown Law (JD). I don't know if you're interested or not, but I'm pretty interested in the idea of a roommate. D.C. is pretty expensive, and living with more than yourself can provide a big help in curbing the costs. Would you be interested?

hi texasaggie, thanks for your offer but i think i am more comfortable living on my own. besides, my family visit me ALOT so i don't think you'll like it too much when my relatives are around all the time! but do let me know if you find something good. we can always be neighbors! =)

question for you: did you apply to the Graduate Tax Scholar program and if yes, have you heard? thanks!

Might as well throw my hat into the roommate ring...hoping to get onto into the residence there (it's near the gym and saves me looking for a place), but I might end up looking for a roommate.

"Stats"
-Canadian

-personally would rather live with 3-4 people (had some pretty brutal roommates in the past...like the buffer people)
-won't be arriving in D.C until about 26 Aug 'cause I got a few things going on around that time

Dupont Circle is a nice area, and it's near the "red line" Metro station which will whisk you to GULC in a few minutes.

hm, I have just landed a job in DC so I will be looking for a place in Foggy Bottom. I have always lived as a student i.e. roommated with somebody, so the prospective of living on my own as a *young professional* is pretty daunting. Anybody interesting in flat sharing in that area?

I'm open to discussions for sure. I actually lived right by the Foggy Bottom Metro Stop during one summer in college while I interned for a congressman.

Stats: Ah, heck, here's my myspace page:

Apartment in DC seems quite expensive.

I will attend summer course in GULC and will live in dorm all July. But it seems unlikely to live on campus from August on. Hope that I can find roommate and apart in July.

I have been in DC for almost 10 years now and have lived in lots of different areas of the city.

Foggy Bottom is nice, but it is on the blue/orange line. That means you will either have to walk to a red line station or switch at metro center. There might be a bus, but I don't know which one.

I currently live in Dupont and it is a great area. Close walk to Foggy Bottom and Gtown and close to Adams Morgan and other fun night hang outs.

If anyone has any questions about areas of DC I would be more then happy to answer them.

Hi, Andrew. Thank you for your info.

It seems Dupont circle will be a good choice.

How about the rent rate there? Single room efficiency.

Rents are a little high right now. You are prob looking 1100-1300 for a efficiency.

I would just check craigslist to get an idea.

Also, a friend sent me this about opening in an apt cause she is moving. I don't know the guy who lives there but it looks like a nice place.

Dupont Circle is the most expensive place to live in DC.

Convenience + cool neighborhood = premium price.

I've also been searching the net for an apartment for me, my wife and my 1 year old..

Im from the Philippines and will be taking up LLM in GULC this fall...

I would prefer living near GULC and somewhere safe so my wife and kid can go take walks around...

any suggestions? Where should I look and how long does apartment hunting take ? I plan to take up the foundations of law program which will start before september...So i intend to go to the US 2 weeks before to go apartment hunting....

a friend who lives in maryland told me to check washingtonian apartments though..
