Getting down to it, people on this forum have been accepted to both UPenn and Yale. You might still have a chance in the second round of admissions, if many people in the first batch of admitted candidates fail to send their deposits.

I have heard from Penn about two weeks ago. As I have said in a different thread, though, it seems as if they have just started sending out their acceptions. Judging from their e-mail confirming my complete application I don't think that they are sending them all at the same time, so don't worry about it.

My friend who's in the ll.m. programm at PennLaw 2004/2005 told me that they were waiting for the deadline which was March 1. and will start sending the acceptance letters to international applicants this and next week.

It's not the second round. I talked with the professor in Upenn, he told me the offers for Chinese had not be sent yet. Maybe it's later than the westen country applicants

Rosemary: Any good news for your friend? I think the application committees may have to take time for reviewing applications from Chinese applicants. I guess there are tons of them applying every year. Wish her luck and Keep in touch.

Hello everyone.

I'm new to this Discussion Board, but I feel like talking to people in the same situation than me, so here I am.

I just wanna say that I receieved an offer from UPenn yesterday. I sent my application on January 14, received a "file complete notification" on February 23, and the offer on March 2.

I also got my acceptance email from Penn on March 2nd, I never, however, received any kind of confirmation that my application was complete. The only message from them that I received after applying was an email saying they had received many more applications than the year before, and they were facing problems processing all of them in a timely manner. I think it also said something about extra staff joining them to tackle that problem

Penn Law, e-mail yesterday, 30 days to concider.

Last night, I got an offer about a tenure-track faculty position from peking university and will hold an national key lab with some fundings. So maybe I'll leave for china this fall if I decide to accept it.

I got an email from Yale stating that they would inform me of my decision mid march. I made my application just before the 3 dec deadline. Also my app was incomplete so that might be a factor..as in I completed it much later..
