What path should I take?

Hello,

I am a US citizen looking to study law in the UK. I already obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice: Corporate and Governmental Crime/Sociology: Organizational Structures.

Would going for an LLM be a better route than taking a GDL or LLB course? I already have a good understanding of law, so I don't want to waste money on getting the GDL/LLB if I don't have to...
Unfortunately, my US degree apparently doesn't convert. So in turn, does this mean that if I ever want to become a solicitor, I'll first need the GDL/LLB? ...or can certain LLMs be acceptable for entry onto a LPC course? Kind of seems redundant in my case, does it not?

To get a better idea of where I stand at the moment,
I have procured a job starting this summer in Germany working for a solar energy company, and am really interested in getting more into the legal sector of renewables (speaking fluent Germany helped with that one). Right now, I am back in the states studying for a graduate certificate in Wind Energy Technology; in order to verse myself more in the technical aspects of the industry. In my personal opinion, I think an LLM would benefit me more at the moment. However, I do want to become a solicitor at some point; I just don't want to shell out the money for the GDL if I don't need to. I'm still convinced that there must be a way I can get onto the LPC after obtaining my LLM.

Aaahhhhhh!

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any knowledge of what type of LLM I should study, that would be very helpful... I was thinking along the lines of Commercial Law. In my head, this, paired with the work experience I'm gaining, my technical degree, and my language skills seems like it could be seen as an asset for a firm/company.

BTW- I'd like to start school this coming September, so getting this sorted is my main priority.

Thanks!

Hi, unfortunately doing an llm would be useless, if you want to work as a lawyer anywhere then you need a law degree or a gdl! And then if you want to work in the uk you need to do the LPC or the BPTC
