1) i was not talking about swansea, i was focusing on glasgow, as I have mentioned in an earlier post i do not know anything about swansea.
2) in one of your posts you said glasgow is better than warwick, so since you want to have a fact-based argument:
http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/university-subject-rankings/2013/law-and-legal-studies
no glasgow here but warwick very high together with other uk universities
3)what you said about high level universities and high grades does not stand...and trust what i am saying since i have experience from a top university and from a bit lower university while you did not study in the uk. Top universities a) say that they accept eg A*AA candidates only but they actually accept as low as ABB or AAC b) they score their students with very high grades in order to maintain their reputation.
4) it is much harder to achieve high grades in lower ranked universities as their goal is to keep in the best students possible in order to raise their reputation even if this means failing 10-20 students in a year.
5) i know people from low ranked universities who were accepted in harvard and the interviewers question during the interview was: 'why the hell is camberidge ucl etc on top 5 and your university is not even top 30? students from those unis, at least most of them are complete idiots.'
I hope this covers you. You stil have not addressed my last point: why would someone who wants to study in england or wales go to scotland as their legal system is different; and why would someone who wants to study in an eu country want to study in scotland since they will probably not be governed by eu law in a few months?
Glasgow or Swansea?

I have figured out that you are greek. I am greek too but I will carry on writting in english because of our public conversation . I have already asked some professors in Athens Law School about these two unis and they all mentioned that there is no big difference and absolutely not the one that rankings show. That is why I am closer to Swansea , as it is commonly known that they do have one of the strongest maritime law llms in europe. I was concerned too in the begining because of the enormous ranking difference between them .

is this the time to feel like complete idiots now? all three of us are greeks? :p

Law01 , actually I am curious about the uni you have attended that was high ranked and you couldn't stand the low quality of teaching . Which one was? Which one you had chosen next and met your expectations? I totally understand the private character of my questions so I won't be bothered if you deny to answer me.
Also, I ' d like to really thank you for your active participation in my thread!!!

Yes tellos the programme I applied in Swansea is named "International Commercial and Maritime Law". The other one in Glasgow is named "International Commercial Law". Sorry for the misunderstanding.

That best faculty remark was about the Commercial law faculty. I have attended classes at Queens......and it was absolutely awful. Just that a University is not in London doesn't mean that it's bad.... There are three exceptional LLM faculties in UK...1) Oxford 2) Cambridge 3) KCL . UCL is good as well but then again it depends on the specialization. I had an offer from KCL and Queens as well....but was looking for a scholarship.
I don't know whether money is an issue for you or not ....but it was for me. Chose Glasgow on the basis of the faculty taking the subjects which I wanted to take and scholarship. So glad that I booted Queens. Never go on rankings.....they are just bull-shit.
Choose on the basis of the faculty
