Cambridge LL.M. 2014 - 2015 Applicants

Sorry for being THAT annoying person again, but do please post if you have any status changes today, I am currently playing a game with myself whereby I refuse to check camsis unless someone else has posted a change here...don't think the game will last for very long... :p

No luck... still awaiting consideration!

Still awaiting consideration too. Have any more offers to UK undergrads/graduates been made?

Only one to a UK undergrad has been reported in this thread, on Saturday. No way of knowing how many have been 'made'. You're in the same boat as me, waiting to hear back from Ox and Cam. Do you have an 'insurance' choice or will you do something else if you don't get in to Oxbridge?

That's my plan of action too! Has anyone posted a status change over the last 24 hours? I don't think so.

Any updates for Indian applicants that you've heard of?

No change my side, do you think its over for Indian applicants?

I believe it's too early to say this since on and off this forum I've heard only two changes for Indian applicants. And I do honestly know of a fair number of people from India who have applied this year.

I might be absolutely wrong though and the decisions for Indian applicants could have very well been communicated.

I'm still waiting to hear back from both. I don't have an "insurance" choice, so I'll do something else! Hopefully we will hear soon, but I can see why they might be leaving UK students until last given that we don't have the same logistical issues that overseas students have.

Hello, guys, I'm a Chinese appalicant. I submitted my application a week before deadline last year, but I have't seen any change in my CAMSIS. It still shows awaiting consideration by department. I wonder if any Chinese applicant have received offer yet?

Besides, I have been worrying about my TOEFL. When I submitted my application last year, my TOEFL score was 107, below the English requirement of Cambridge(110, 25 each). Up to now, I haven't updated my score. Can I received an conditional offer, if I meet other criteria of Cambridge?

Hey, I'm from China and my status in Camsis changed last week. But don't worry, I think they are still giving out more offers.

Actually, I'm more worrying about my TOEFL. I'm still not sure whether there's conditional offers based on English proficiency.

sheepj, I have just found this thread for you:
http://www.llm-guide.com/board/118650/6

Please see the message by 924CC.

In summary:
Ms Wade ... further explained that, apart from the fact that such little difference in the score was to be considered absolutely unimportant, the application is mainly evaluated on other grounds. Therefore, there lower scores in a language test should not prevent you from getting a conditional offer

That person who wrote the message then got in according to the AppTracker. Thus, presumably you do stand a chance.

People in the UK-applicants-waiting-to-hear-back-boat shouldn't panic IMO. I know of a few very strong applicants who are yet to hear back. I sincerely doubt that that is because they haven't made the cut (unless Cambridge is really taking its 'international LLM' approach too strongly and thoroughly neglecting UK applicants).

It seems like most UK applicants with offers so far are internal or Camb law graduates at any rate.

It's so strange that they are leaving UK undergrads to the very end given that (a) familiarity with the domestic system and way marking works might make it easier to suss out the quality of each applicant comparatively and (b) UK applicants are less likely to have also applied to American places - meaning an offer will be more likely to lead to an acceptance.

Oh heavens, I fondly remember my halcyon days when I thought I would be hearing back at the end of January.

Thank you so much! I'm now working hard on TOEFL, hope to meet the requirement soon and receive an offer. And wish you good luck!

Congratulations, Optimisticgirl! So, it seems that Germans (BoGSed on Wednesday) are getting offers today -> that would mean 6 days later. Is there anyone who got BoGSed and did not get an offer?

From last year's thread, it seems that being BoGSed practically means being admitted: "Technically in Cambridge the faculty can only recommend to the Board of Graduate Studies that you be offered a place, but 99.9% of the time the BOGS will just accept the faculty's recommendations, so if it's reached the BOGS stage then you are almost definitely in." No, just the one that I mentioned yesterday. I know a few other people who have applied and none of them have seen a change in their status.

Congrats! May I ask a question? What's the condition of your language test? Maybe your answer can be a great of help for that Chinese applicant.

What scholarships have you applied for? I thought there was only Gates, and then college scholarships, but maybe I've missed some important information...
