Hello there!

Those who applied through the regular deadline will receive an email by early April:

"Once your application is complete, the Admissions Committee will begin reviewing your file. All LL.M. admission decisions are made by early April, on a rolling basis. The date you submitted your application often has no bearing on when you will receive a decision. If you have not yet received a decision, it most likely means that the Committee simply has not yet reviewed your application, so you should not worry. If you applied through the Early Review Program, you will receive a decision by the end of December".

Admission decisions will be sent by email; we will not post decisions on this status page.

You can check your application status here (https://www.law.columbia.edu/admissions/graduate-legal-studies). The first button at the bottom of the page.

I applied in the Early Review and was deferred. I am also waiting. I think we should hear from them in about a week, according to last year timeline.

I hope we get a reply soon. I mean, they don’t wait till they have decided all applications, right? So lets hope for them to evaluate ours within a fortnight! Hahaha

Hey! I have not applied through the early review option. Rather I went for the regular deadline. Can I still expect to receive an email within a week?

Guys! Any update from CLS regular review? I applied on 18th Dec, the status still shows "received" as of 23rd Dec. I wonder whether I should write an email to check.

Somebody got through regular review this past weekend. She had submitted her application on Dec 10.

I had submitted it on Dec 16 and got an “application complete” email on Jan 2.

I think you should write to them.

I had applied on 18th December and my LSAC Report was sent on 23rd December. My application isn't complete either. I had mailed them and their response was this:
"Thank you for your email. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, and each one has to be manually checked by our staff, there is some time between when you submit it, and when we receive your CAS report from LSAC. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis, and there is no priority given to when the applications were received, so the fact that some decisions have been made does not have any bearing on a decision on your application. Once we process your application, you will receive an official email notifying you of your status."

Really not sure what to make out of it. If anybody could help me understand this, it would be very helpful. I mean, do I still need to worry that my application isn't complete yet?

There's nothing to be worried at all. One may get to hear of their successful application as late as April, while another may be notified of their unsuccessful application by end of January itself.

Columbia reads applications at random, and decisions are notified accordingly.

I understand how stressful this must be but you've got nothing to be worried about. The status on your application page will change eventually.
