From friends, I've heard that it only takes two undergraduate years and two postgraduate years (the postgraduate years meaning the actual attendance at the law school).
Help would be greatly appreciated!!
How long does it take until you're able to practice as a barrister in NZ?

Hello foxglacier,
To become a lawyer in NZ students complete a law degree (LLB) which generally takes four years. In addition to having the appropriate academic qualification, they complete practical legal training as required by NZCLE which typically lasts 12 months (articles of clerkship). Followed by a Professional Legal Studies Course (PLSC) that takes either 13 or 19 weeks. Upon completion graduates can apply for submission and receive a practising certificate. This allows lawyers in New Zealand to work as barrister or solicitor.
Hope this answers your question.
