WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management is a private, research-based and internationally-oriented business school emphasizing entrepreneurial spirit. WHU offers B.Sc., M.Sc., MBA, Executive MBA and doctoral and post-doctoral programs in business administration. WHU is constantly ranked among the top business schools in Europe.

The Program

Graduation Ceremony 2009
In light of this demand, Bucerius Law School and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management jointly offer the one-year, English-language Master of Law and Business – Joachim Herz Program (“MLB Program”), supported by Joachim Herz Stiftung. The MLB is truly a “joint” degree, combining numerous aspects of International Business Law with issues of International Management. Because course participants are trained systematically in both the legal and economic fields, they obtain a unique ability to analyze the ever-increasing number of international issues that involve both legal and economic elements.
Bucerius Law School and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management are ideal partners for such an innovative, international and practice-oriented program. They are recognized as leading institutions in Germany and enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide. Both schools are accredited.
The MLB is a full-year Program offering strong professional instruction, a Master´s Thesis, an internship, presentation and intercultural skills training, a “Studium Generale” (general course of studies) and active career planning.
The academic year starts with fall term at the end of August. The fall term consists – as do spring and summer terms – of both a legal portion and a business segment. The spring term starting in January combines a six-week teaching block with an eight-week internship in a law firm, corporation, or international organization. The Program actively supports participants in obtaining a suitable internship. The summer term consists of six teaching weeks and the master’s thesis phase. Graduation takes place in the end of August/beginning of September.
The Program draws on the faculty resources of both the Bucerius Law School and WHU and brings in adjunct professors from the practicing legal and business community. Instruction is internationally and comparatively oriented; the teaching style is characterized by open dialogue and intensive support of students by faculty.
In the current 2009–2010 academic year, some 45 students from 26 countries are studying in the MLB Program.
The Bucerius/WHU Master of Law and Business - Joachim Herz Program is substantially supported by:
