How to get in?

Hello all,

I was thinking of applying on december to oxbridge, king's, lse, and so on. But reading these forums I've realised that I'm all ready too late, since I haven't done anyhting yet. So I'll ask you for some advice for next year.

How long did it take for you to prepare your application?Since I live in a spanish-speaking country, I'll probably need to translate everything to english.

Another thing I was wondering, is what can I do in this extra-year to improve my chances of getting in to one of this unis. I graduated last year, I'm in the top 5/10% of my class, I've been teaching in my university for this year, and I wrote an article for a conference. I work in the best law firm of my country (for more than two years now).

What else can I do? Of course I don't have much time (just a year). But I'm very concerned because the grades of my university are very low in general. Though I'm in the top 5/10%, my grades don't look so great (I've got a 7.97 out of 12).

What do you think?

Thanks!

I dont think you are late dear! you still have time believe me.
Late would late December,,but if you apply around mid November it would be good still!

I also come from a Spanish speaking country Panama :)
Since im a traslator myself i translated everything into English and gave it to a friend of mine who is a translator as well to sign the translation for me otherwise there would a conflict of interest you know what I mean.

And about doing some extra well youu have pretty much everything is needed believe me! so if you decide to apply next year then just take some extra seminars, maybe do an internship abroad if possible.

Have you done the toelf or ielts already,,remember you also need a test certifying that your level of English is good enough.

oh almost forget it took around one month to prepare everything but i already had taken the ielts exam so if you havent done this it might take longer depending on how fast you can take the exam and how long they take to give you the results back,,it varies from country to country!

If you need more help let me know! me escribes en espaņol un mensaje privado si deseas,,cuidate mucho y buena suerte amiga o amigo,,ojala logres aplicar este mismo aņo :)
