LSE, UCL, KCL - when to apply

When would be the best time to apply to places like LSE, KCL and UCL? It says on their websites apply as early as possible, but I have heard some people say that if you apply too early you may get rejected as they wait for better applications later next year. At the same time, you obviously should not apply too late.

I think I would have a small chance of getting into LSE, and maybe a better chance with UCL and KCL (I have a 2:1, but at a poorly ranked UK university), but I want to apply at the best possible time to give myself the best chance. When do you all think I should apply?

Applying early is always better than applying late. In my opinion, the chances of getting in are better if you apply early.

I have the same doubt.

I heard the same thing.

On the other hand, the people from law school always says that the sooner the better.

Perhaps anyone who have been approved could give us a tip!!!

I sent my papers to 4 different universities around October 24 last year, however i was only acknowledged about receipt of my papers around November 10 I think. So I would say i applied early because per example UCL started processing application from 15 October 2008. But as you can see they only acknowledged me until november 10! and i also applied to kings and LSE and as well and it happened the same with all 3 of them,,,they all acknowledged receipt of my documents between November 10 and November 20,,,,which means:

In my experience APPLY EARLY to UCL and LSE,,,cause if you apply in november you will be acknolwedged late november or even December,,which means they decision will be until March cause they usually take two nice months to make a decision!

i think if they see a good application they choose you,,however i do think maybe they do wait until around january or february to start giving out decisions so they a good amount of people by that time so they can start making decisions from january onwards,,,,,,,,,at least this is concerning LSE and UCL

Maybe with kings could be a little different cause they rejected only after 3 weeks after acknowledging receipt of my application,,i was like that fast! and i that bad?? maybe i applied to early i have no idea here butttttttt maybe thats now what happened,,maybe i simply wasnt goo enough to them,,,people say oh the long wait its a good sign,,that probably means you were accept but like i experienced,,,NOT ALWAYS,,,why?

LSE,,oh they made me waited until April to let me know if was rejected,,,so that thing they say the long wait is a good sign,,,wrong!

so really you can be rejected very quickly if you apply early and also can be rejected after almost 3 months and a half if you apply early,,,id say,,dont risk it!!! apply early and thats it. BELIEVE if they are gonna reject you you cant apply the minute after they said you can start applying or the last day you are permitted to apply,,,,at least thats my honest opinion based on my experience and other people who posted last year on the llm website!

Oh forgot to say i applied as well to edinburgh and they said they accepted around december close to christmas time. i really wanted to go there but ucl convinced me at the end. im really happy at ucl i must say,,its very difficult and there a HUGE READING LIST FOR EVERY SINGLE CLASS! so be prepared

GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS,,,,i know how you feel believe,,i was in your position last year around this time!

Hi,

I am a non-US third year law student from a TOP 20/25 law school in the US.

My current GPA is about 3.36 and I expect (hope) that it will increase to 3.4/3.45 at the end of this semester.

I would like to receive some advice as to whether I should apply for the UCL/KCL/Queen Mary LLM now (with a lower GPA) or in the middle of January (hopefully, with a higher GPA).

Thanks!
