I want to know when is the deadline to submit applications? Also, how does one apply for the double LLM with NYU? Would I have to take the GRE for that?

I'm looking to apply for the August 2010 start date, but when I tried to apply online it says that applications aren't open. Last year August 2009 applications opened on October 1 so I'm assuming applications for August 2010 can be sent in starting October 1, 2009. The deadline last year was December 1, except the International Business program deadline was January 1.

As hey09 rightly said, the application schedule given on the website is for last year and it was October 01 to December 01, 2008 for most courses, except for IBL, deadlines for which were October 01 to January 01, 2009. The schedule for this year has not been declared on the website it seems. Wanted to ask sss if there is some other source where he/she got to know that the applications are starting in September 2009, because the website doesn't say so, as per my limited knowledge.
Also, could someone please tell me where are the application forms on the website. I could only find the forms for research LLM, and not for coursework LLM.

I assumed that if the applications started in October last year they would do so again this year. There isn't any reason to think they would alter the application time lines. The person who said applications started September 1, 2009 appears to be incorrect as the online application does not permit anyone to submit an application yet.

I could not locate application forms on the website for the coursework LLM. You should apply online anyway, as I believe the application fee is cut in half if you do.

NYU at NUS has a completely different application process. You apply through NYU and pay their application fee I think. Check out their website: www.law.nyu.edu/llmjsd/llmsingapore/index.htm

Request everyone to let all know once the application process starts and the forms become available. sss, as far as I know, NYU@NUS application starts earlier, maybe around September (that is what I had heard anyway, I haven't checked it myself), maybe that is why you were under the impression about the applications starting in September. Anyway, please don't be apologetic, we are all here to share any information we have chanced upon.

Hi everyone..any news for the admissions??
Also it would be great if anyone could tell me the TOTAL expenditure one would incur (including tution fee, accomodation etc) while staying in Singapore.
Moreover what is the placement scene in NUS?

Thanks in advance

Actually, I am not too sure about the answer to this. Would request someone to shed light on this. As per my limited and vague information, different people say different things. The amounts reported are ranging from 30,000 to 42,000 SGD. Haven't heard anyone saying lesser or more amounts than these. These, of course are taking into acount tuition fees of last year,
Placement, again is reported differently by different people. Some say its good, others say hardly anyone getting a job there because of recession. One thing is for sure, we are not eligible to join the Bar there, It is only as consultants for international transactions that we might be considered. Request everyone to share whatever information they might have on the same.
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure there is enough information on the NUS website to calculate how much fees and expenses would add up to. I think the student housing place they offer has its own website too.

If you search prior discussion threads about NUS there is information about placement. Generally it does not seem great, but it's not bad. Apparently Indian students fare better as international firms need Indian qualified lawyers to work on deals. I have no idea if this is accurate though.

I'm a US lawyer looking at NUS purely for the experience. Sure I'd love to get a decent job out of it, but I realize in this economic climate it will be difficult. Hopefully if I enter the next intake the economy will be better by the time I graduate.

I request anyone who has suitable information, to let us applicants for 2010 know, if there are any scholarships for LLM (Coursework degrees and/or International Business Law), apart from the ones mentioned in the application forms. If yes, where would we be able to find information and deadlines about the same?
Thanks in advance
