can LLM graduate work as TA?
Hi,allMon Aug 31, 2009 08:54 AM i am interested in LLM programs in canada. however, i do quite know what people usually do after taking LLM programs. theoretically, graduates can not practise law in canada. how about work as a teaching assistant? or any other job in the universities in canada? i do want to gain some overseas work experience after taking LLM program. what can i do? thanx~~~~~~ |

I'm not sure I really encountered TA's in any of my law classes, but I'm sure you could find some work doing research for professors.

Depends on the field. Recenty, I have seen an advertisement from Ryerson University in Ontario inviting application from LLM students and current doctoral candidates for a TA position in employment law. Being eligible doesn't mean chances of getting a TA position will necessarily be good however. Doctoral Candidates will always be given first crack.
