Hi to everyone!!

I have been accepted to the University of Saarland (european law) and to University of Aix-Marseille (european business law).
These law fields seem equal to me and I do like both German and French, so these factors are not to be taken into account.
In general I think I prefer the one in Aix- Marseille because of its location. Nonetheless, the only info I have for both is from their web sites. And the Uni in Saarbruecken seems far more "serious". Thus, I hesitate to reject this option. Not to mention I am totally unaware of their reputation.
Any advice??

Thanks in advance!

I have absolved the program at the Europa-Institut in Saarbrücken and I really enjoyed the time there. The program has a very good reputation and is considered one of the best in European Law. The students are from all over the world and the atmosphere is therefore very international. Most of the lecturers are practitioners from the EU institutions, international law firms or the EU courts.
The academic level is quite high, but no need to bother.

I can really recommend this program!

Best regards,
Eric

I don't know that much about the University of Saarland but Aix Marseille III university is very highly regarded in France and entrance to its Master 2 degrees is very selective. And as you said the location is great so I'd go for Aix! Plus the three universities (Aix Marseille I-II-III) are all merging in January 2010 and that should lead to increased international visibility and look more "serious".

Congratulations ! I also think Aix Marseille III is a very good choice. Aix is one of the most famous law schools in France and is one of the largest. Its name even includes droit at the first place.

I will apply for Aix next year!...

Hope to know you friend.

Best wishes.

I also did the LL.M at the Europa Institut and can only say it opened tons of doors for me!!! The reputation is second on to Bruges in Europe in my opinion and the professors are from all kinds of backgrounds and high-flying professionals- I can only recommend it!!
