Nottingham vs. Nottingham Trent
I have done my LLB at Uni of Nottingham (2:1) and am now doing my LLM at NLS/NTU (like some more of my friends). Mon Mar 16, 2009 07:31 PM If you only consider rankings Uni of Nottingham is higher ranked. However only for undergraduate courses, but anyway... If close links with the profession are important for you, you should go to NLS/NTU as it delievers highly ranked LPC and BVC courses, as well, and has close contacts with Freshfields, Eversheds etc. Freshfields also offers an own LLM in Environmental Law at NLS/NTU! The teaching quality is very high at both institutions. I don't really see the difference. The campus is certainly nicer at Uni of Nottingham. The buildings and equipment on the other hand are much better at NLS/NTU. In addition, there is quite a lot of interchange between both law schools. The course work of Uni of Notts is double checked by NLS/NTU (and others of course) and vice versa. The integration of NLS/NTU into the city of Nottingham is much better than those of Uni of Notts. NLS/NTU has its own tram stop close to Old Market Square, Uni of Notts is situated rather at the outskirts of Nottingham. It depends on what you expect from your course... NLS/NTU has a great summer school programme, as well! I liked Uni of Notts and I also like NLS/NTU. I think both are really excellent law schools. So either way, you will make a good choice :) |
