My thoughts entirely. If letters were being sent out Mon and Tues I would expect at least a clutch of UK applicants to have received their letters by now. Somehow I suspect similarly- they haven't even been dispatched yet. Not one person has reported having received a letter in the post yet, and many people in the UK will have had their post come already today.

I live in the border region betwen England and Scotland and the mail doesn't reach here until sometimes as late as 2pm- infuriating on days like today where you are waiting for things which others get before breakfast. Anyway, I know a few UK applicants have emailed already so the letter is somewhat irrelevant to them- which maybe offers a slight explanation- but if I don't get anything in todays post, maybe I'll snap and have to email. I shall let you know when the post arrives...

No post today for me (in the UK) so I decided to email! My application has been successful! S_Dimelow, I'd recommend taking the plunge too!

Oh dear... things are getting complicated! In a very good way!

Today it's a national holiday here.. so there is no post - but even if there were, one should consider that if the envelope had been posted on Monday, it would need at least one week to reach my country...
At any rate I decided to be patient, which is a virtue, and wait for the postman to deliver the envelope...

And I am also waiting a decision by Cambridge...

Thus, I am considering to ask my doctor to prescribe pills.. :-/

Congratulations to all who have been offered a place on the BCL.

Tigerland, so you couldn't wait all the way!!!

S_Dimelow, are you going to be the lone one or have you already followed Tigerland's advice?

I received my offer letter at 14 30 UK time- bloody postal system! I have to admit though, after seeing the Tigerland's post I buckled into the pressure and emailed Marianne-seeing as it appeared as if I was the only one left- and she graciously replied.

Well, well. Decisions to be made! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted to both, or either- a fantastic achievement. Anyone that has had bad news, commiserations again. Remember, you might have hated it anyway and you'll probably have a much better time whereever you end up..hopefully, anyway!

Congrats S. ! Interesting to see the post comes even later than here.. I didn't think that was possible.

Anyway, I am in too (Magister Juris).

To everyone still waiting: best of luck !

just to ur reference: Uzbekistan is a sunny country! It is a lot hotter than Siberia :)

Yes. I emailed the faculty asking for my status. Plus, the reply contained the "your college may not be your first choice college".

I believe that implies your placement in Siberia College or Uzbekistan College. I hear it's a long and snowy trek from the law building.

I was going to ask you the same thing!

Originally, I was all for Cam but I'm indecisive at the best of times so I have to say this has put the cat amongst the pigeons. Looking at both courses options I could easily pick four I was interested in so I may take some time to decide. I should be visiting in a few weeks though so maybe I will know after that. If we were given college information for either, that might help! lol

What about you?!

Hey Everyone. Congratulations to those who got the offers that they were looking for.

Now onto my question. I just got an email from Oxford confirming that my application for admission was successful and there are no conditions. FYI - I'm from Canada and haven't gotten a physical letter yet, so maybe this is all that I get in this regard. I digress. At the very bottom of the email, after the signature block, are the words, "College: LINC". Does this mean that I have been accepted into Lincoln College, or simply that my application is going to be considered by Lincoln? Lincoln was my second choice on my application. Anyone else see something like this on their offer letters?

Received the offical letter as well by e-mail. Bottom: College: Christ Church. ChCh was my first choice but I think it just means that your application is forwarded to a college for review

This appears on the physical letter as well. Mine says Keble, which is my first choice but as the letter states:

"Your application will now be considered by a college"

and that:

"In due course you will receive a letter from a college informing you of its offer"

I'd imagine that it is just where the app is being sent first of all. I guess we wont know until college decisions appear.

Yes, indeed. However, it also has some of the best skiing known to humankind in the mountains on the Siberia side, according to one of my Russian friends who is a skier. I confess, though, that I have never visited Uzbekistan. Perhaps it will be on my itinerary one day.

Sadly, I doubt that more than 1 percent of my fellow Americans would be able to pinpoint Uzbekistan on the map. For that matter, most would not be able to identify Afghanistan, Pakistan, or any other stan on the map.
