Hello, am moving to Zurich with my husband spring 2009 and wondered if anyone could recommend any LLM programs in Switzerland. Am currently working as corporate finance lawyer in US firm and particularly interested in environmental programs. Thanks!

Hi there,
I would recommend the LLM in Fribourg. Fribourg University is the best Law school in Switzerland. The course content might also be what you're looking for.
The LLM courses are all in English but you can take extra intensive French or German classes free of charge (they say on their website). I am considering applying to Fribourg in 2009!

I'd recommend the Geneva Master in International Dispute Settlement (www.mids.ch), if the field is of interest.

In that specific field, they are considered, as far as I know, to be among the best programs in the world, if not leading that list. In any event, most of the professors involved have truly outstanding reputations.

For international matters, you might want to turn your gaze, generally speaking, to Geneva and Zurich.

The WTI's Master of International Law and Economics programme offers students intensive training on the law, economics and policy of the international trading system. The programme uniquely combines a multidisciplinary perspective with a strong applied focus. In addition to its resident faculty, the world’s leading trade experts from law firms, international organisations, policy research institutes and top universities are teaching in this one-year programme.
