Applying online to Cambridge

Possibly a silly question...but I'm a little confused...so any help would be greatly appreciated...The Cambridge Online application deadline is 17th Nov...and also carries an application fee of 25 pounds...As far as I can figure, a paper app doesnt cost (isn't it normally the other way around??)

Anyway, I was wondering if there is any particular advantage in applying online - as opposed to a paper application? Particularly since Cambridge doesnt allow Cvs and gives very little space for giving ones achievements/credentials etc...Would a neatly typed online app create a bettter impression - or is that trivial? I know some US Univs "encourage" online apps for such reasons...

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I applied via paper basically because I like having the security of a hard copy (and to save the 25 pounds!). I just typed out what I wanted to say and then stuck it on the paper form and photocopied it. There didn't appear to be a word version of the form which was frustrating, just a PDF. I hope there's no advantage to applying online! Maybe just the convenience factor.

I'm applying on paper aswell, seems to be a money saver and it gives you more time. I like your idea of typing the longer responses and attaching them. Smart!

Instead, I applyed on line... but now I have a problem with sending the supporting material...
On the selfservice page, it gives a list of ducuments you have to send them:
Four cover sheets WITH PHOTO
App: First reference
App: Second reference
Personal Reference
App: Transcripts
App: Language Test
But than it also says: "If you live outside the UK, you must send THREE complete sets of documents in your package"

Now, my question is... how many copies should I send them? I supposed 3 copies of transcripts and language test only (it seams strange to me that I should send them 12 copies of cover sheets!!)

What did you do?

HJScotland - be careful! When I did the paper application I didn't attach a separate sheet with longer answers, I just printed out my answers then cut and pasted them into the boxes they give you. They make it clear on the paper form that you are not supposed to attach separate pages or go past the boxes provided!!!

Hi Agnese

I would just go with what the paper application says you have to send which is the four cover pages with the photo. Then the rest of the application copied 3 times, then the supporting materials (ie transcripts) copied three times. I don't think it means 12 copies! Check the paper requirement page that gives you a 'tick box' list of things you need to provide.

Hi Fugito,
That's exactly what I've done (I think 12 copies are too many even for Cambridge!!)... Now I just have to keep my finger crossed for a couple of months! :)
