Lewis & Clark Begins Joint J.D. / LL.M. Environmental Law Program

Program gives students chance to complete both degrees in 7 semesters

Sep 7, 2008

Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon is beginning a joint J.D./LL.M. degree in Environmental & Natural Resources Law this autumn.  While both degrees are pursued separately, this program allows students to receive both degrees in three-and-a-half years instead of four.

According to Lewis & Clark, it is the only such program in the United States.

The joint program is available only to students who get their J.D. from Lewis & Clark, though graduates of other law schools are welcome to apply for the normal two-semester LL.M. program.

Applicants can apply for the program at the time they apply to the J.D. program at Lewis & Clark, or after they complete at least two semesters. Students intending to continuing to the LL.M. must maintain a certain grade point average (GPA) during their J.D. studies.
